Yahoo has ruined their messenger. I hope they read all of these negative reviews and go back to the original format. The phone app will no longer load properly and I have missed many messages. Even
after erasing the app and reloading it, it still won't work.

The old YIM was just fine, and now that there's literally no more contact list it's nearly impossible to keep up with people using this app. I've switched to other IM platforms for the most part. The
only reason I'm giving this two stars is because it technically functions properly, the new UI was just a terrible idea.

My old version stopped working so I had to update. I looked over reviews and assumed my old messages would be safe. I just discovered they are gone. Years of conversations I've been saving are gone.
If I knew that would happen I would not have updated. Is there a way to get them back? I'm heartbroken over this. Can someone from Yahoo Please get back to me asap.

Yes, the old look was better. It was the interface that sold Yahoo the Internet giant 10 years ago, not this insecure little thing that has to access the Internet every time you touched something.
The old look was fast and fun. And had there been security issues with it, the way to deal with the issues was to address them below the hood, not to try to keep up with the Joneses and redesign the
app with speed bumps in every step of the way.

This app hasn't worked properly for months. You can't tell who is on line. Worse still is my partner is overseas and messages me, and even though i am sending replies, he is not getting them. Its
really messed things up, as this is the main way we keep in touch. Well done Yahoo. You completely and totally f#@%!d up a perfectly good app, with your so called upgrade. Upgrades are supposed to
improve things not make it so that its impossible to use at all. This needs fixing and fixing now.

Ever since this was "upgraded" it had not been good. The lack of presence is a key feature that has been around since the early days of IMs. It's as if they decided to stopping doing one thing well,
text and video chatting to make it try to do everything, and failed. It's not easy to tell if you're IMing or texting or what ever. And in the end the recipient may not even get it. It's not worth
the headaches.

Says "We need to get a few details in order to get you logged in. Would you like to try again? Or switch to using a different account?" It won't let me get any further than this, despite accepting my
account key everytime. Also, I was using IM+ app to connect since that was the only way I could connect. Now it says that third party apps will no longer work since August 31. Guess Yahoo doesn't
care about its user base anymore.
