Slank berdiri desember 1983. dengan nama awal cikini stone complex, dengan beranggotakan, Bimo Setiawan (drum), Boy (gitar), Kiki (gitar), Abi (bas), Uti (vokal), Wel Welly (vokal).
Mereka sering membawakan musik2 dari Rolling Stone, idola mereka. Di tengah jalan beberapa dari mereka keluar. karena keuletan Bimbim, panggilan Bimo Setiawan membentuk band lagi dan merubah nama menjadi Red Evil. dengan formasi Bim2(drum), Bongky (gitar), Kiki (gitar), Denny (bas), Erwan (vokal). dan mereka sudah mulai berani memainkan lagu2 mereka sendiri.
Penampilan mereka diatas panggung yang cenderung seadanya dan slenge’an. sehingga para penonton sering menyebut mereka band slenge’an. mulai saat itu nama band mereka berubah menjadi Slank. Slank stood December 1983 with the first name cikini complex stone, with members, Bimo Setiawan (drums), Boy (guitar), Kiki (guitar), Abi (bass), Uti (vocals), Wel Welly (vocals).
They often bring musik2 of Rolling Stone, their idol. On the way some of them out. because tenacity Bimbim, call Bimo Setiawan formed the band again and changed its name to Red Evil. with the formation Bim2 (drums), Bongky (guitar), Kiki (guitar), Denny (bass), Erwan (vocals). and they have started to dare play their own lagu2.
