Tipe-X dibentuk pada September tahun 1995, semula kelompok ini menggunakan nama Headmaster sebagai nama band, namun mereka akhirnya memilih nama tipe-X karena untuk memudahkan orang mengingat.
Grup ini beranggotakan Tresno (Vokal), Micky (Bass), Yoss (Gitar), Billy (Gitar), Arie (Drum) dan Anto (Trombone). Semula mereka memainkan lagu - lagu grup luar seperti Voodoo Glow Skull, Operation Ivy & mighty-mighty bosstone, namun akhirnya mereka mengganti dengan membawakan lagu-lagu ciptaan mereka sendiri.
Festival - festival musik hingga panggung - panggung underground di Jakarta & sekitarnya mereka jajal, Mereka juga pernah menjadi salah satu juara favorit Festival Musik Alternatif di Menteng tahun 1995.
Mereka akhirnya membuat beberapa demo lagu, lalu tipe-X berinisiatif mengirimkan demo lagu `Frustasi` ke acara Ekspresi Indosiar dan ditayangkan.
Mereka juga mengirimkan demo lagu Bebas Pusing ke acara IndieLapan radio Prambors dan masuk peringkat lima. Setelah itu tawaran manggung pun semakin banyak. Type-X was formed in September 1995, originally the group used Headmaster name as the name of the band, but they eventually chose the name of type-X as to facilitate the recall.
This group consists of Tresno (vocals), Micky (Bass), Yoss (guitar), Billy (guitar), Arie (Drum) and Anto (Trombone). Initially they played the song - the song outside groups like Voodoo Glow Skull, Operation Ivy and mighty-mighty bosstone, but eventually they replace with bringing the songs of their own creation.
Festival - music festival to the stage - the stage of underground in Jakarta and surrounding them jajal, they also became one of the favorite winner in Menteng Alternative Music Festival in 1995.
They finally made some demos, and Type-X took the initiative to send a demo song `Frustasi` to show Expression Indosiar and aired.
They also send a demo song Non dizziness to radio IndieLapan event Geronimo and ranked five. After that gig offer even more and more.
